Why Waves & Code?
My diverse interests never quite fit into one box, so I decided to create my own. Welcome to Waves & Code, a weekly newsletter where we explore the worlds of software engineering, surfing, leathercraft and everything in between.
I envision this to be a space in which I share my professional experiences as a Software Engineer; my athletic adventures as a mid-level surfer/snowboarder and my creative exploration into leathercraft. All of this with the intention of fostering a community of like-minded individuals who can learn from one another and embark on journeys of personal and professional growth together. Join us in creating, sharing, and learning through Waves & Code.
Who am I?
A friendly neighbourhood programmer…? A star-struck star gazer…? A local ex-kook…? Yes!
I am an Astrophysicist turned Software Engineer that loves problem solving, surfing and just being a general decent human being! When I’m not glued to a computer screen, coding or gaming, you’ll find me out at backline, chasing those green waves!
I have lots of opinions on legacy code, longboards & life that I can’t wait to share with you.
What to expect?
Every week, I share a blend of personal experiences, insights, and discoveries. The general content structure will be:
Feature Article: The week's main random thought, musing, or discovery.
Dev Insights (if applicable): Any interesting dev content or tools stumbled upon.
Adventures (if applicable): Join me as I share recent adventures or surf experiences as I attempt to transition from an intermediate to the next Kelly Slater (with a touch of humour, of course).
Leathercraft Corner (if applicable): I'll take you along on my newest journey into the world of leathercraft.
Favorites this Week: Get ready for quick bullet points sharing the highlights and discoveries from the past week.
More details of what to expect can be found here in issue #1:
